MAX release first teaser for The Penguin

Max

While we still have a few years to wait for the next Batman movie, the MAX original series The Penguin will hold us over until then, and the first teaser for the project was just released. Oscar-nominee Colin Farrell reprises his role as Oswald Cobblepot, the titular Penguin and a scene-stealing favorite from Matt Reeves’ The Batman. Plot details are scarce at the moment, and we don’t get an awful lot from the first teaser either, though it channels a lot of The Sopranos and Goodfellas vibes as Cobblepot describes life in his childhood neighborhood. We get some moody shots of the grimy Gotham streets, and quick looks at Cristin Milioti’s Sofia Falcone and Clancy Brown’s Salvatore Maroni. Check it out below:

The series will see Colin Farrell reprising his role as Oswald Cobblepot, and Cristin Milioti has joined the cast as Sofia Falcone. Clancy Brown joined as Salvatore Maroni.

Carmen Ejogo (Fantastic Beasts, Alien: Covenant), Francois Chau (Lost, The Expanse), David H. Holmes (Hulu’s High Fidelity), and Jared Abrahamson (Hello, Destroyer) were the most recent additions to the cast, all in unknown roles.
Prior to them signing on, the last new additions announced in March of last year included Theo Rossi (Luke Cage, Army of the Dead), James Madio, and Scott Cohen have all been added in unannounced roles. Also joining the cast will be Michael Zegan in an unknown role, but sources speaking with Variety indicate he will be playing Alberto Falcone.
Craig Zobel (The Mare of Easttown) has signed on to direct the first two episodes of The Penguin. He will also be serving as an executive producer on the project.
The Penguin will premiere this Fall.
